Key Changes: This week's release notes introduce a new page in Admin Center that displays external OAuth clients used to authenticate and connect to Zendesk accounts. As part of the ongoing removal of password access for API authentication, accounts without recent usage of this feature have had the capability proactively turned off and removed. Accounts that disable password access will now automatically be enrolled in two-step verification, with the final phase of this rollout beginning in October. Additionally, the default content for the welcome email has been updated for new accounts. The Copilot add-on has also been expanded with 15 new recommendation types.

Zendesk Announcements • 7 days agoThe Zendesk ecosystem has been abuzz with a mix of new feature announcements, service incidents, and a growing focus on AI-powered customer support. While Zendesk is pushing forward with initiatives like expanded Copilot recommendations, WhatsApp Flows, and integration with GPT-5, the company has also faced several service disruptions, including issues with QA access, workflow disruptions, and AI agent delays. This suggests Zendesk is navigating the challenges of scaling its platform and capabilities while maintaining stability, a critical concern for Zendesk professionals who must ensure reliable customer experiences. The emphasis on AI-driven features highlights Zendesk's efforts to future-proof its offerings, but the mix of expansion and incident reports underscores the need for careful implementation and ongoing monitoring to deliver value-added, seamless customer support.

Nico's Commentary
Like last week, security takes priority. It's easy to forget to disable old tokens and we see plenty of instances still allowing simple password access, even for API authentication. Drop me an email or book a call and we can talk you through some quick checks here!
I'm still not sold on the copilot features. I have support managers ask "What is the secret to getting good value out of this?" and if you've figured this out then please do let me know. Sorry friends at Zendesk but this feature feels like it's not quite ready. Maybe these items will help?
There has been a distinct lack of quality-of-life improvements for Zendesk admins of late. I would really like to see the config interface for the core features get brought up to date before much longer.
